I know plenty of professional artists who use photoshop. :>
Photoshop actually a very powerful drawing tool compared to some other programs thanks to its diverse capabilities and settings that are also used for photo and animation editing. Unfortunately the huge scope of these capabilities makes it really intimidating and difficult to use for some people, though.

It took a year of endless tutorial videos for me to get the hang of using it.
